Experience Justice Augsburg up close: A look behind closed doors
On Saturday, October 17, 2026, the Augsburg District Court will open its doors on the occasion of its 25th anniversary. From 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, the District Court of Augsburg, the Local Court of Augsburg, and the Public Prosecutor's Office of Augsburg invite you to an informative discovery experience about criminal justice, legal protection, and the working world of the judiciary.
Insights into investigations and criminal proceedings
Visitors will gain vivid insights into the processes of investigations and criminal proceedings. Reenacted court hearings make the work of a court immediately tangible and show how a trial is prepared, conducted, and decided. Areas not otherwise accessible to the public, such as the cell block, the consultation room, and a non-public warrant opening will also be presented.
Exciting topics from law and society
The event connects local institutions, legal expertise, and citizen-oriented information. Central topics include telephone and romance fraud on the Internet, domestic violence, juvenile delinquency as well as prevention and support services from the judiciary and police. Interesting cases, quirky evidence, blood traces as silent witnesses, and widespread legal myths make the complex work of criminal justice comprehensible.
Program for families, the curious, and career starters
Information stands provide information about powers of attorney, living wills, inheritance, victim protection, and youth assistance measures. The program also includes career paths in the judiciary, the equipment of court bailiffs, a mobile police station, a speed camera trailer, a driving simulator from BADS e. V., as well as exhibitions on evidence and historical aspects of legal protection. Children will have their own entertainment offerings.
In the outdoor area, demonstrations by police service dogs, a prisoner transport vehicle, the police ape, the justice bees, and additional participatory offerings provide further impressions. The Justice Choir opens the event day at 11:00 AM; demonstrations of the service dogs are scheduled for 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Refreshments will also be provided.
