On Thursday, November 5, 2026, the enchanting world of Rapunzel opens in Augsburg. The Augsburg Puppet Theater tells the well-known Grimm classic with lovingly operated puppets, imaginative images, and a child-friendly story that invites families to wonder, laugh, and get involved.

A fairy tale full of courage, curiosity, and heart

Rapunzel lives high up in a tower room and has never seen the world outside her prison. The witch Gothel takes care of her, but one day Prince Poldi climbs her long braid. Rapunzel initially sends him away. Whether she ultimately leaves the tower and what surprising role a pig takes on, children and adults will experience directly on stage.

Magical Puppet Stage for Young Audiences

The Augsburg Puppet Theater turns the fairy tale into a special family experience. Small gestures, moving figures, light, and stage designs create a focused atmosphere where children can attentively follow the story. The performance stimulates the imagination and offers an age-appropriate learning experience around courage, self-determination, friendship, and trust.

Ages Appropriately and with Family-Friendly Running Time

The performance is recommended for children aged three and up and lasts about 95 minutes. This makes Rapunzel a suitable cultural outing for families with kindergarten children and younger school children. The afternoon performance at 2:00 PM fits well into a relaxed family day in Augsburg.

An Afternoon of Children's Laughter and Togetherness

When Rapunzel's braid falls from the tower, a theater moment full of tension and fantasy begins. Children discover a fairy-tale world while adults enjoy the craftsmanship and nostalgic magic of the Puppet Theater. The shared experience strengthens family bonds and makes theater as a safe, child-friendly learning experience immediately perceptible.
