Elfi in Danger: A Fantasy Family Experience in the Forest

On Saturday, November 21, 2026, the puppet theater Elfi in Danger – Adventures beneath the Tree Root invites children aged five and up to an exciting journey into a magical forest world. At the Young Theater Augsburg, families can experience a child-friendly story with lovingly designed figures, natural materials, live music, and many moments for wonder, laughter, and participation.

A Little Fairy Seeks Her Own Path

Elfi is young, clumsy, and cannot fly. The fairy gang always finds something to criticize about her until Elfi leaves her home tree root. In the forest, she encounters ants and gets into danger. Luckily, Schmauchi, a troll, helps her, who is very different from what the usual stories suggest.

Excitement, Courage, and Surprising Friendship

Together, Elfi and Schmauchi set out to search for Schmauchi's uncle. As they journey, a special friendship develops between them. The storyline conveys to children appropriately that being different can be a strength and that help sometimes awaits where no one expects it.

Participate, Wonder, and Discover Nature

The little audiences are continually invited to support the figures. This creates a lively theater experience with a sense of community and active learning experience. Natural materials in figures and set design create a sensory atmosphere, while the live music accompanies the adventures in the forest.

Child-Friendly Impulses for Environmental Awareness

When suddenly a forest fire erupts, it becomes clear how quickly carelessly discarded waste can pose a danger to nature. Only if everyone works together can the habitat be saved. The piece combines imaginative puppet theater with valuable educational themes such as mindfulness, responsibility, solidarity, and respectful treatment of the environment.

Theater Die Prinzenbude

The Theater Die Prinzenbude was founded in 2019. The trained actress Sandra Lienhard performs, among other venues, at the fairy tale tent Augsburg, in the cultural center abraxas, and at the environmental education center Augsburg. Performances are also bookable for kindergartens and elementary schools. This allows the ensemble to combine stage experience with family-friendly and pedagogically suitable offerings.
