Elfi in Danger: A Fantastical Family Experience Under the Tree Root

On Saturday, November 7, 2026, a mysterious world opens up at the Young Theater Augsburg, nestled between tree roots, forests, and a gang of fairies. The puppet theater piece "Elfi in Danger – Adventures Under the Tree Root" takes children aged five and up on an exciting journey filled with courage, friendship, live music, and experiences in nature.

A Little Fairy Seeking Her Own Path

Elfi is excluded by the fairy gang: she is seen as too young, too naive, and too clumsy. Additionally, she cannot fly yet. Eventually, she leaves her familiar tree root and ventures alone into the forest. Children will experience a relatable story about self-confidence, belonging, and the courage to be different.

Tension Between Ants, a Troll, and a Forest Fire

In the forest, Elfi quickly finds herself in danger. Ants surround her until the troll Schmauchi comes to her aid. Although trolls are considered rough and dangerous, Schmauchi shows heart and willingness to help. Together, the two set out to find Schmauchi's uncle. As a carelessly discarded glass bottle ignites dry grass and the forest catches fire, every helping hand counts.

Interactive Theater with Natural Materials and Live Music

Lovingly designed figures and settings made from natural materials create a sensory forest world. The young audience members are repeatedly encouraged to support the figures. This creates a child-friendly interactive theater with direct involvement, humorous moments, and lots of children's laughter.

Learning Fun About Friendship and Nature Conservation

The performance combines fantasy with an age-appropriate learning experience. Children discover how important solidarity, mutual help, and mindful interaction with nature are. The story addresses themes of child development such as empathy, self-efficacy, and the reduction of prejudices, all while maintaining the fun of the play.

Theater Die Prinzenbude

Theater Die Prinzenbude was founded in 2019. The trained actress Sandra Lienhard is active, among other places, in the Märchenzelt Augsburg, the Culture House Abraxas, and the Environmental Education Center Augsburg. She also offers performances for kindergartens and elementary schools. The guest performance takes place in the south wing of the Culture House Abraxas at the Young Theater Augsburg.
