Jazzclub Augsburg e.V. | Photos & Program

The Jazzclub Augsburg e.V. is one of the most concentrated and simultaneously most charming addresses for live jazz in Augsburg. Those looking for the club will find it in the city center at Philippine-Welser-Str. 11, right in the heart of the city and thus deliberately close to urban life, but still with the special feeling of retreat of a smaller, specialized music venue. The association describes itself as a meeting point for jazz enthusiasts and as a promoter of jazz and jazz musicians in the Augsburg region. According to the official website and institutional profile, the club offers around 100 seats, its own cellar location, and a program that combines concerts, jam sessions, and listening evenings. This mixture makes the location so interesting for guests: not the anonymous large-space atmosphere, but closeness to the stage, a clear focus on music, and a space designed for concentrated listening. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/jazzclub/))

For those seeking information in advance, photos and impressions are particularly helpful. The Jazzclub Augsburg visibly relies on visual material to convey the atmosphere of its evenings: On the impressions page as well as on the start and program pages, concert photos, stage moments, and faces from the scene are displayed. This is particularly valuable for a venue with a club character, as it allows one to get a sense of light, closeness, audience, and spatial effect even before the visit. At the same time, the visual material shows that the club is not just a venue, but also a scene address where musicians and audiences recognize each other. Those searching for Jazzclub Augsburg photos receive not only memories but also a realistic impression of the typical live atmosphere in the cellar venue. Photos and Impressions from Jazzclub Augsburg

The photos on this location page are more than just decorative elements. They serve multiple purposes: they show the stage, document artistic diversity, and make visible how intimate an evening at Jazzclub Augsburg feels. On the impressions page, concert images are collected, including specific image credits such as Silvan Lackerschmid Fusion I Premiere, Silvan and Wolfgang Lackerschmid, and Wolfgang Lackerschmid. This selection already shows that the club does not limit itself to neutral architectural photos, but documents real concert moments. This is helpful for visitors, as it allows for a better understanding of the size of the space, the closeness to the audience, and the type of staging than a pure text description. Especially in a jazz club, where atmosphere and acoustics are almost as important as the program itself, photos convey the crucial first impressions. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/impressionen/))

The homepage and program pages also work with images and image references. There, photos of individual concerts, such as those of Eva Welz or Hubertus Sichler, appear, and the website explicitly refers to photo credits for several events. This is a good sign of a professionally maintained appearance, as it shows that the visual language is not created randomly but is editorially accompanied. For SEO and user experience, this is important: people searching for photos, impressions, or the appearance of the location quickly receive visual orientation. At the same time, the images strengthen the emotional dimension of the club. They not only show musicians on stage but also the character of a place where jazz is experienced closely, vibrantly, and without distance. So, those searching for Jazzclub Augsburg impressions find a visual narrative of the house that almost anticipates the sound of the club. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/))

Program, Jam Sessions, and Listening-Bar@JCA

The program of Jazzclub Augsburg is intentionally multifaceted. The official description mentions three central formats: concerts by selected formations across all common genres of jazz, jam sessions with active members and interested musicians, and the Listening-Bar@Jazzclub Augsburg featuring vinyl evenings and an analog retro stereo system. It quickly becomes clear that the club not only functions as a stage for guest artists but also as a social and musical meeting point. This mixture of concert, exchange, and listening is particularly harmonious in jazz because it connects improvisation, encounter, and historical awareness. The club explicitly sees itself as a promoter of jazz and jazz musicians in the Augsburg region. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/jazzclub/))

Especially notable is the rhythmic schedule of the venue. The website regularly mentions Tuesday jam sessions, while band performances mainly take place on Fridays or Saturdays. The tourism note adds that there are about 80 concerts annually. Together, this results in a clear calendar with a recurring structure that provides orientation for both regular guests and new visitors. Additionally, the Listening-Bar@JCA takes place twice a month according to the website, combining vinyl culture, DJ sets, and listening evenings. This is a nice unique feature, as it nurtures not only live music but also curated listening culture. Therefore, those searching for Jazzclub Augsburg program are not only looking for a single concert date but a whole club dramaturgy with recurring formats, fixed weekdays, and changing stylistic focuses. This is exactly what makes the location interesting in the long term. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/))

The stylistic offering is also open but clearly curated. On the start and program page, classic jazz formations, blues evenings, young jazz projects, and listening-bar dates appear. The club thus shows that it does not only occupy a niche within the jazz world but addresses different audience groups: people who enjoy traditional playing styles as well as guests who appreciate modern, melodic, or more experimental approaches. This diversity is an important SEO factor because search terms like program, jam session, listening bar, live jazz, or blues do not have to be viewed in isolation but are interconnected within the club concept. Especially for visitors who are not yet familiar with the club, this is a good signal: those who engage with jazz will find a place at Jazzclub Augsburg with a regularly updated program, vibrant club character, and genuine scene connection. Tickets, Admission, and Discounts

Those wishing to visit Jazzclub Augsburg will find the most important ticket information on the dedicated ticket page. It explains that ticket prices vary depending on the event and are indicated for each date. For members, the club card or membership number serves as proof at the box office, and the page also mentions discounts for students, apprentices, the disabled, and citizens entitled to citizen's income. This shows that the club has a clear and comprehensible pricing structure that considers both regular guests and discounted access. Ticket purchases are possible online, and in case of problems, the page refers to a dedicated ticketing email address. This is helpful for visitors because it allows them to know in advance how the booking works and what documents should be brought for discounts. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/tickets/?utm_source=openai))

Practically important is also the admission. The ticket page explicitly states that the box office opens at 19:30 at Philippine-Welser-Str. 11. This fits the club character of the venue, as at smaller venues, early admission often determines how relaxed one arrives, finds a seat, and gets into the evening. Additionally, there is another useful offer: concert vouchers. These cost a flat rate of 28 euros and can be redeemed for any event; however, the website points out that they are only sold through the own ticket shop and cannot be canceled or returned after purchase. For gifts, spontaneous jazz fans, or regular guests, this is a simple yet attractive offer. So, those searching for Jazzclub Augsburg tickets not only get the option for single purchases but also a club-typical voucher solution. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/tickets/?utm_source=openai))

Another point often considered in ticket and visit inquiries is discounts and membership. The association page refers to a membership that not only supports the club's non-profit goals but can also bring advantages in ticket purchases. On the action page for Jazz Summer 26, it is mentioned that new members during the action period receive a free ticket for the upcoming season as well as a permanent discount of about 35 to 50 percent on tickets. Such information is important for SEO relevance because search queries about discounts, becoming a member, or tickets in clubs like this are closely related. The Jazzclub Augsburg positions itself not just as a pure event machine but as an association with bonds, a promotion logic, and tangible value for its members. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/mitglied-werden/))

Address, Directions, and Parking in Augsburg City

The address of Jazzclub Augsburg is clear and central: Philippine-Welser-Str. 11, 86150 Augsburg. The location is not only interesting from a postal perspective but also practical for visitors, as the club is located right in the city center. An external venue profile even describes the location as a house in the former Wunderbar in the pedestrian zone between the town hall and Moritzplatz. This explains very well why the paths in the vicinity are rather short and urban. Those looking for the club are not moving in a peripheral area or an industrial park but in a dense city center where culture, gastronomy, and pedestrian zones intersect. This location is a real advantage for guests who want to combine their concert visit with a city stroll, a meeting beforehand, or a later wind-down. ([archiv.langekunstnacht.de](https://archiv.langekunstnacht.de/2024/public/spielort/68-jazzclub_augsburg))

When it comes to parking, one should consider the reality of a city center. The city of Augsburg explicitly points out limited parking options for the city and recommends using public transport, bicycles, or e-scooters for central destinations. This can be appropriately transferred to Jazzclub Augsburg, as it is indeed located within this city center structure. If arriving by car, one should plan enough time for parking search and check in advance which city center options are sensible. For many guests, therefore, public transport is the more relaxing solution. The central city location indicates that the club is also very well accessible without a car. Those who want to keep the paths short benefit from the location between the most important city center axes. Especially for evening events, this is pleasant because one can easily return to the city center or to the next connection after the concert ends. ([kunstsammlungen-museen.augsburg.de](https://kunstsammlungen-museen.augsburg.de/anreise))

It is also important that the Jazzclub itself does not highlight any parking spaces on its website. This is not a disadvantage but rather typical for small city center venues that rely on urban connectivity rather than large parking spaces. For those searching for directions or parking at Jazzclub Augsburg, the pragmatic answer is therefore: centrally located, in the pedestrian zone, best accessed by public transport or bicycle, and allow some buffer time when arriving by car. This recommendation fits both the urban traffic situation and the location of the club. Those who know the city will immediately recognize the proximity to Moritzplatz and the town hall; those who are new should carefully enter the address into the navigation and consider the last walk through the city center as part of the evening. ([archiv.langekunstnacht.de](https://archiv.langekunstnacht.de/2024/public/spielort/68-jazzclub_augsburg))

Capacity, Equipment, and Cellar Venue

The Jazzclub Augsburg is not a large hall but a deliberately intimate space. According to official and institutional information, around 100 guests or 100 people can be seated. This size is ideal for a jazz club because it creates closeness without feeling cramped and focuses on listening rather than distance. The association describes the house as a stylistically appropriate cellar venue in the middle of Augsburg city. This creates exactly the type of club atmosphere that many jazz fans seek: no representative large-space feeling, but a concentrated space where stage, audience, and sound are very close together. This is a great advantage for events because even finer musical nuances can be well highlighted. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/jazzclub/))

The club mentions several specific elements that support the live experience. These include sophisticated digital lighting and sound technology that can be adapted by the sound engineer to the respective formations, a grand piano, a Fender Rhodes piano, and a drum set. This shows that the club is not only spatially but also technically prepared for live music. In practice, this means that soloists, small, and medium-sized ensembles can perform here in a professionally supervised setting, and the audience experiences an acoustically and visually carefully designed evening. The space is thus suitable not only for classic jazz formations but also for other formats that require sound proximity and character. Such details are important for SEO and user expectations because they answer the question of why the location is interesting for musicians and guests alike. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/jazzclub/))

Additionally, the rooms of the Jazzclub can also be rented for private or external events, according to the association's page. This expands the utility of the location and makes it clear that the club functions not only as a regular concert venue but also as a flexibly usable cultural space. For organizers, companies, or private groups, such a stage can be particularly attractive because it already brings a framework with its existing infrastructure and atmosphere. The Jazzclub Augsburg is thus not only a place for concert evenings but a small, professionally managed space with a clear identity, strong technical basic equipment, and a size that brings art and audience into direct dialogue. This mixture of functionality and charm makes the location so distinctive. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/jazzclub/))

History, Self-Understanding, and Booking

The history of Jazzclub Augsburg is closely linked to the desire to give jazz in Augsburg a permanent place again. External and club-related sources describe that the club has been operating its own location at Philippine-Welser-Str. 11 since the end of September 2015; the venue profile of the Lange Kunstnacht explicitly mentions the opening in the former Wunderbar in the pedestrian zone between the town hall and Moritzplatz. This fits well with the idea of the association, which wanted not only to hold concerts but to create a permanent infrastructure for jazz. The association's goals are clearly non-profit-oriented and focus on promoting jazz, supporting young talent, and networking musicians and audiences in the Augsburg region. Thus, a concert venue becomes a cultural anchor point. ([archiv.langekunstnacht.de](https://archiv.langekunstnacht.de/2024/public/spielort/68-jazzclub_augsburg))

The current self-understanding is also clear: Jazzclub Augsburg sees itself as a promoter of jazz and jazz musicians in the region. According to the association's page, booking is done with lead time, usually six to eight months in advance. Applications should be sent via email, links to listen to or view are explicitly welcome, large attachments should be avoided, and MP3s are not desired. CDs can be sent to the association's address. This regulation shows a professional yet personal booking approach, where quality, fit to the program, and a clear communication path are important. For musicians and agencies, this provides clear guidance, and for visitors, it indicates how carefully the program is curated. ([jazzclub-augsburg.de](https://jazzclub-augsburg.de/jazzclub/))

The combination of association structure, promotion thought, and program diversity makes Jazzclub Augsburg more than just a place for a single concert evening. It is a networking point where the regional scene, young talent development, regular jam sessions, and curated concerts come together. This also explains why the club repeatedly appears as an important jazz venue in tourism and cultural contexts. Those searching for membership, booking, Jazzclub Augsburg photos, or program will therefore encounter a location that not only offers events but organizes vibrant cultural work. This is precisely where the strength of this house lies: a clear focus, a comprehensible structure, and a palpable closeness to music. Great location, in the center of town where it’s rather easily reached by trams. A small club space that allows only a few dozen guests to get inside. Beware that the Jazz programs are popular and tickets will usually be sold out. To have a seat, don’t forget to come earlier before the concerts begin.

Small, smart and clean jazz club in Augsburg's pedestrian zone. It is a club supported by membership but guests are welcome and the clientele is friendly. Offers a good blend of local, national and international acts. Jazz sessions on alternate Tuesdays. Check the website for dates. Has a bar with table service on busy nights. No menu but occasionally sandwiches are available. No direct vicinity parking but there are several park houses nearby. There is plenty of parking for cyclists.
