Christmas stage magic with quirky humor: The Messiah at Sensemble Theater

When the Christmas story meets pointed British humor, turbulent stage moments, and charming improvisational energy, a very special theater evening is created. On December 17, 2026, the Sensemble Theater in Augsburg presents Patrick Barlow's Christmas comedy The Messiah – a festive concert experience without a concert, but with lots of playfulness, situational comedy, and surprising twists.

A Christmas story with comedic sparks

Patrick Barlow's play takes the great motifs of the Christmas story and transforms them into a fast-paced comedy. Between familiar images, quirky ideas, and affectionate theater parody, an evening develops that combines classic Christmas atmosphere with British humor. The ensemble plays with role clichés, dramatic contrasts, and precise timing.
