Oscar in Augsburg: Turbulent comedy full of lies and misunderstandings
On Sunday, November 8, 2026, the Theater in der Frauentorstraße will present Claude Magnier's fast-paced comedy Oscar. The performance begins at 6:00 PM. The audience can expect an immediate event experience with pointed dialogues, surprising twists, and an event atmosphere where each new revelation drives the chaos further.
A morning that completely goes off the rails
At the center is soap manufacturer Pierre Barnier. His employee Albert Leroi bursts into the previously cozy family routine with a utopian salary increase and a marriage proposal for Barnier's daughter. When an additional 34 million disappears from Barnier's cash, a rapid game begins involving money, lies, and family entanglements.
Suitcases, jewels, and ever-new truths
The production relies on classic boulevard comedy at a high tempo. Suitcases change hands, jewels appear, romantic plans get tangled, and even the question of who is whose daughter loses its clear answer as the events unfold. The particular charm arises from the direct stage play, rapid scene changes, and an audience mood that supports every new twist.
Comic ensemble in the theater space
Under the direction of Peter Resler, a theater evening is created that combines organization, timing, and precise character direction. On stage, among others, are Julia Licitar as Bernadette, Roman Stein as Albert Leroi, Walter Link as Pierre Barnier, and Nils Weller as Oscar. The theater's event management creates the framework for a lively performance with set design, lighting, costumes, makeup, and props.
Entrance and visit
The regular price is 15 euros, and discounted tickets cost 10 euros. Children under ten years have free admission. The box office opens one hour before the performance begins, and entry starts 30 minutes before the show. There will be free seating.
Conclusion: Oscar promises an energetic theater evening amidst family chaos, greed, and romantic entanglements. Those wanting to experience Claude Magnier's comedy with its fast rhythm and surprising twists live will find excellent conditions for entertaining theater hours in Augsburg on November 8, 2026.
