For You: An Emotional Premiere at Gaswerk Augsburg

The State Theatre Augsburg brings Iris Sayram's autobiographical novel For You to the stage as an intense stage adaptation. On November 10, 2026, the audience will experience a theatrical performance about family, origins, social inequality, and the desire for belonging in the Cooler Building on the Gaswerk site.

Memories Become the Stage Space

Nicole Schneiderbauer directs the story in an installative space full of memories, traces, and stories. The unique atmosphere of the Gaswerk connects acting, set design, and visual storytelling to create an immediate event experience. Personal life stories intersect with societal questions that resonate far beyond the theater evening.

A Family Story with Political Power

Iris Sayram's novel tells of a childhood in Cologne in the 1980s and 1990s, of growing up in poverty, and of the parents' persistent effort to provide their daughter with a free and happy home. Migration, classism, social codes, and the difficult question of upward mobility are experienced personally, precisely, and without sentimentality.

Theater with Attitude and Proximity

As a world premiere, For You connects artistic design with social relevance. The State Theatre Augsburg targets a culture-interested audience that appreciates contemporary acting, strong characters, and careful event planning. The audience's mood derives from the proximity to the narrative and from the many details of the atmospheric stage space.

Conclusion

For You promises an intense theater evening between family memory, contemporary diagnosis, and installative stage art. Those who want to experience the Augsburg acting program live and discover a premiere with emotional depth will find a special date at the Cooler Building Gaswerk.
