Beauty and the Beast: A Fairy-tale Musical for the Whole Family
When the curtain rises on December 13, 2026, at the Congress Center in Augsburg, a journey begins into a world full of poetry, emotion, and grand stage designs. Theater Liberi brings the beloved fairy tale Beauty and the Beast to the stage as a colorful family musical and tells the story of Belle, an enchanted castle, and the power of love that can even break a curse.
A Fairy Tale between Castle Magic and Great Emotion
At the heart of the production is the touching encounter between two characters who could hardly appear more opposite at first. Belle meets the Beast in a world where outward appearance and inner character are at odds. The dramaturgy combines familiar fairy tale motifs with a contemporary musical adaptation in which wit, tension, and emotion immediately intertwine.
Musical Sounds, Choreographies, and Imaginative Stage Art
Emotional original compositions, romantic ballads, and pop songs shape the musical character of the performance. In addition, varied choreographies and a colorful stage aesthetic bring the enchanted castle, its inhabitants, and the fairy-tale atmosphere to life. Acting, music, and movement combine to create a stage experience that particularly appeals to families and fairy tale lovers.
Theater Atmosphere at the Congress Center
The congress hall provides the festive setting for this musical adventure. The house opens one hour before the show starts, and the hall is accessible 30 minutes before the performance. In the foyer, snacks and drinks are available before the show and during the intermission. The cloakroom is mandatory for fire safety reasons and costs 2 euros.
The venue is reachable by tram line 1 towards Göggingen and by bus 700 to the Congress Center stop. Wheelchair spaces and accessible toilets are located on the ground floor. An induction loop is also available throughout the parterre area in the congress hall.
A Family Musical with Strong Audience Appeal
The production relies on a clear visual language, catchy music, and a fairy-tale narration style. This creates an immediate audience reaction: children follow the plot with bright eyes, while adults discover the romantic level and the message about inner values. The musical combines entertainment with a timeless question: What truly makes a person beautiful?
