Secret Dark Matter: A Journey to the Invisible Substance of the Universe

On November 14, 2026, the S-Planetarium Augsburg will unveil one of the greatest mysteries of modern astronomy. The event Secret Dark Matter combines scientific insights, impressive fulldome projections, and an extraordinary event atmosphere under the planetarium dome.

When the Cosmos Reveals Its Hidden Side

About a quarter of the mass of the universe is attributed to dark matter. What is certain is that it exists – but its exact nature remains unclear to this day. The planetarium show takes the audience on observations that reach deep into space and experiments that occur far below the earth's surface.

Science as an Immersive Event Experience

Under the artificial starry sky, astronomy becomes a sensory experience. Projections, spatial sound, and dome architecture make distances and cosmic scales immediately tangible. The audience's mood oscillates between wonder, curiosity, and the fascinating feeling of getting closer to an unresolved mystery of research.

Clearly Explained and Professionally Grounded

The production was realized by Rafael Lang and the Planetarium Laupheim. Lang researches the phenomenon of dark matter at Purdue University in Indiana. The show places central astronomical observations in understandable context and demonstrates how researchers conclude the existence of invisible matter from the movements of visible celestial bodies.

Who Is the Planetarium Show Suitable For?

The presentation targets young people aged 14 and older and adults with an interest in astronomy, space, physics, and the big questions of the universe. The event management of the planetarium combines professional information with accessible staging and a strong visual atmosphere. The regular duration of the presentation is about 60 to 70 minutes.

Conclusion: Experience Cosmic Mysteries Live

Secret Dark Matter offers a compact evening of science with impressive images, understandable explanations, and real insights. Those who want to experience Augsburg from a cosmic perspective should secure a ticket for this special journey through space, time, and research in advance.
