Murder Under the Starry Sky: Crime Reading Under the Star Dome in Augsburg

Criminal Matinee Under the Star Dome

When the starry sky arches over Augsburg on Sunday morning, the Sparkassen Planetarium transforms into a crime scene of a special kind. In Murder Under the Starry Sky, literary suspense, atmospheric projections, and the concentrated theater atmosphere of a crime reading combine to create an extraordinary stage experience.

Five Voices, One Literary Crime Scene

Angela Eßer, Wolfgang Kemmer, Andreas Kalb, Willibald Spatz, and Bernhard Jaumann invite you to a criminal matinee. In changing perspectives, short crime stories and murderous scenes unfold, whose dramaturgy thrives on precise words, pointed character portrayals, and the rhythm of spoken language.

Literature Meets Star Projection

The stage design emerges not from sets but from the dome of the planetarium. Astronomical visual content accompanies the reading and places the texts in an expansive visual atmosphere. The view of the artificial night sky gives the stories a special gravity: Between cosmic vastness and human abyss, every suspicion becomes intense mental cinema.

Benefit Reading for an Inclusive Project

The event takes place as a contribution to the nationwide Crime Day. The benefit reading supports einsmehr e. V., an initiative for children with Down syndrome in Augsburg and the surrounding area. The matinee is organized in cooperation with the Augsburg Adult Education Center, the S-Planetarium, and the Syndicate, the association of German-speaking crime authors.

Notes for the Stage Experience

The astronomical visual content will not be explained during the reading. A live-moderated view of the night sky is not part of the program. Film and audio recordings are not permitted. The event is recommended for ages 10 and up and lasts from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Conclusion: Murder Under the Starry Sky promises an unusual connection of crime literature, acting, and immersive planetarium atmosphere. Those who want to experience suspense not only through reading but in the interplay of voice, light, and star projection will find a special literary matinee here. Register now with vhs Augsburg and experience Crime Day live at the planetarium.
