Animal Discoveries at the swa Zoo Day in Augsburg
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, the Augsburg Zoo will transform into a special event place for families. At the swa Zoo Day, children and adults will discover more than 1,200 animals – from alpacas to zebras – and experience a varied day with a zoo rally, free tours, and exciting encounters with the animal world.
Exploring the Animal World
Big eyes, curious questions, and lots of children's laughter: There is much to discover at the Augsburg Zoo on this family day. The animals provide children with immediate learning experiences and make biodiversity understandable for kids. While observing, young visitors develop curiosity, attention, and a first understanding of the protection of endangered habitats.
Zoo Rally with Puzzle Fun
The Zoo Rally invites children and their families to explore the zoo in a playful way. Along the way through the zoo, exciting puzzles and discovery tasks await. Families can pick up materials at the swa water bulli right at the entrance. This program combines movement in the fresh air with learning fun and shared time.
Free Tours for Curious Families
Those who want to dive deeper into the world of animals can participate in a free tour. The approximately one-hour tours start at the zoo entrance or at the pelican house at 11:00, 12:30, 14:00, and 15:30. Registration is not required. The tours provide knowledge appropriately for different ages and make observing the animals a particularly vivid family experience.
Family-Friendly Zoo Day with Refreshments
The zoo is open on the event day from 9:00 to 17:00. At the swa water bulli, there are free refreshments and information about the action day. The bus line 32 leads directly to the zoo, saving families the hassle of parking around the zoo and botanical garden.
Experiencing Species Protection
At the swa Zoo Day, the protection of biodiversity is also at the center of attention. Augsburg City Utilities cover the usual species protection euro included in the admission for all visitors. This supports species protection projects of the zoo. Children experience that a joint outing not only brings joy but can also contribute to the protection of animals.
Conclusion: A Family Experience Full of Wonder
The swa Zoo Day Augsburg combines animal observations, movement, puzzle fun, and child-friendly knowledge transfer. Families can expect a varied day with many opportunities to wonder, ask questions, and discover together. Those who want to experience the special atmosphere of the action day live will find an exciting place for shared time and sustainable learning fun at the Augsburg Zoo.
