Rapunzel at the Augsburg Puppet Theater: Fairy Tale Magic for the Whole Family
On Sunday, November 8, 2026, the enchanting world of Rapunzel opens in Augsburg. The Augsburg Puppet Theater brings the renowned Grimm classic to the stage as a lovingly staged puppetry show. Families experience an imaginative story full of wonder, children's laughter, and shared time together.
A Fairy Tale with a Tower, Magic Hair, and Surprising Twists
Rapunzel lives high up in a small tower room and has never seen the world outside the walls. The witch Gothel takes care of her, but one day Prince Poldi climbs up her long braid. Whether Rapunzel leaves the tower and what role a pig plays in this special version will be discovered by visitors during the performance.
Child-Friendly Theater Experience for Ages Three and Up
The performance is recommended for children aged three and older, making it appropriately designed for a first theater visit. The clear fairy tale plot, the visible puppetry art, and the imaginative stage sets promote attention, imagination, and joy in storytelling. Parents and children share an intense family experience that provides material for discussion about courage, freedom, and personal choices.
95 Minutes Full of Fantasy and Learning Fun
The show lasts about 95 minutes and offers a child-appropriate mix of excitement, humor, and poetic moments. The Augsburg Puppet Theater combines traditional puppetry with careful dramaturgical design. This creates a safe and special learning experience where children playfully discover emotions, relationships, and motivations for action.

The theater is located in the former Holy Spirit Hospital in the center of Augsburg. The building is accessible without barriers. For those arriving by car, available options include the City Gallery parking garage and the Spickelbad Park-and-Ride lot. The afternoon performance starts at 2:00 PM.
