Rapunzel at the Augsburg Puppet Theater: Fairy Tale Magic for the Whole Family
On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, the enchanting world of Rapunzel opens in Augsburg. The Augsburg Puppet Theater tells the well-known Grimm classic with lovingly manipulated puppets, imaginative images, and a child-friendly dose of humor. Families experience a warm theater experience full of wonder, excitement, and children's laughter.
A Tower Room Full of Imagination
Rapunzel lives high up in a small tower room and has never seen the world outside her prison. The witch Gothel takes care of the girl, but Rapunzel discovers her own longing for freedom. When Prince Poldi climbs her long braid, an exciting adventure of courage, curiosity, and hope begins.
Puppet Theater as a Unique Learning Experience
The production combines classic fairy tale storytelling with the unmistakable puppet artistry of the Augsburg Puppet Theater. Children from 3 years old follow a clear story, recognize emotions, and experience how characters overcome challenges together. This appropriately enhances imagination, listening skills, and emotional development.
Quality Time in a Fairy Tale Atmosphere
The approximately 95-minute afternoon performance creates a special family moment: subdued lighting, moving figures, and the familiar fairy tale world allow children and adults to immerse themselves in the action together. The performance takes place indoors and is suitable as a cultural outing for families with small children.
