From the first note to the first song: Sax4Beginners in Augsburg
Play the saxophone yourself and master a simple melody by the same evening: The Sax4Beginners workshop transforms the music world in Augsburg on November 10, 2026, into a musical starting point for curious beginners. Under professional guidance, participants without prior knowledge, sheet music, or inhibitions discover the basics of the instrument.
Musical entry without prior knowledge
The three-hour introductory course is especially aimed at adults who have long dreamed of playing the saxophone or simply want to try if this expressive instrument suits them. Age and musical background do not matter. The event planning consciously opts for a low-threshold entry and a personal target group approach.
From the first breath to your own melody
Step by step, the workshop leads from the correct embouchure through the first notes to the musical foundations of saxophone playing. At the end of the event experience, there is a tangible sense of achievement: participants play a simple melody. This creates a focused, motivating event atmosphere and visible joy in their own sound.
Instruments from Yamaha are provided
No one needs their own saxophone for the workshop. Yamaha provides each participant with a high-quality instrument with a mouthpiece free of charge. A music stand is also included in the onsite equipment. This keeps the focus on practical experimentation, individual guidance, and the first musical progress.
Experienced instructor with international workshop experience
The musical direction is provided by Katja Lau. The saxophonist studied at the University of Music and Theatre Rostock and at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. As a Yamaha Artist and instructor of the workshop series Saxophone for Beginners, she guides people on their journey from the first note to the first song. Additionally, she is a member of the band BrassAppeal and regularly performs on AIDA Cruises ships.
