Band of Friends bring Rory Gallagher's blues rock energy to Augsburg
On Tuesday, November 17, 2026, Spectrum in Augsburg transforms into a meeting point for fans of electric guitars, driving grooves, and Irish blues rock history. Band of Friends will take the stage at 8:00 PM and revive the musical world of Rory Gallagher with a great live atmosphere.
When blues rock gets under your skin
At the center of the concert is Gerry McAvoy, who formed the rhythmic backbone of Rory Gallagher's band for over two decades. Together with his musical companions, he continues the energy of that era: powerful bass, expressive guitar lines, precise synchronization, and a stage performance with no distance.
An evening between emotion and amplifier power
Band of Friends combine passionate blues with edgy rock and a direct, unadulterated concert aesthetic. The program draws from Rory Gallagher's extensive repertoire and complements the classics with original pieces. At Spectrum, warm guitar tones meet robust sound, driving rhythms meet reflective ballads, and an intimate audience atmosphere meets the force of a real rock band.
Inspired by Rory Gallagher, independently as a band
Gerry McAvoy founded Band of Friends in 2012 to carry on the music and spirit of his long-standing collaboration with Rory Gallagher live. The discography includes studio albums such as Too Much Is Not Enough and Repeat After Me, as well as the live album Live 'n' Kickin. The current live program connects this band's history with new interpretations and compositions.
Live experience for blues and rock fans
Those looking for guitar music with character, analog stage feeling, and musical authenticity will experience an evening full of dynamics at Spectrum. The direction of the interplay is created directly on stage: every bass pulse carries the groove, every guitar phrase opens the space, each chorus leads the audience deeper into Gallagher's blues rock universe.
Conclusion: This music belongs on stage
Band of Friends bring the memory of Rory Gallagher's legendary live energy to Augsburg on November 17, 2026, creating a unique concert experience. Doors open at 7:00 PM, concert begins at 8:00 PM.
