307 CHEERS! – A Musical Family Day for Leopold Mozart
On Sunday, November 15, 2026, the Leopold Mozart House in Augsburg transforms into a vibrant sound and experience world. During the family day "307 CHEERS!" visitors celebrate the 307th birthday of the famous Augsburger with music, puzzles, a family tour, and a clownish museum visit.
Exploring the Mozart House
All day long, a Mozart House rally invites children and families to explore Leopold Mozart's world playfully. With a discovery booklet, visitors will navigate the museum, passing by stories, historical impressions, and musical traces. The rally is available at the ticket counter and makes history immediately tangible.
Leopold Mozart as Musician, Father, and European
At 11 a.m., a 60-minute family tour through the Leopold Mozart House begins. The focus is on the person behind the name: Leopold Mozart as a musician and manager, as a father and educator, and as a traveler and observer of Europe over 300 years ago. The tour is aimed at families with children aged six and above.
Mini Concerts in the Historic Baroque Theatre
At 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., music by Leopold Mozart and his surroundings will resonate in the baroque theater. The musical youth promotion of the Mozart City Music School Augsburg brings different sound colors to the stage: At 2 p.m. the violin class of Corine van der Kamp-Visser will perform, followed by various wind ensembles at 4 p.m. The mini concerts combine historical atmosphere with young stage performance and focused live sound.
A Sled, a lot of Music, and a Curious Red Nose
The family program "A Sled in the Museum" begins at 3 p.m. and lasts about 30 minutes. The clownish museum visit with Singrid Sausl alias Ingrid Hausl tells a fantastical story surrounding Leopold Mozart's famous "Musical Sled Ride". A forgotten sled gets the museum in motion and brings music, humor, and the museum world together in a playful way. The program is suitable for children aged four and above.
Free Admission and Flexible Participation
The family day takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All offerings are free of charge and accessible without prior registration. For individual program points, capacity is limited; admission is granted based on availability. Families will experience a varied day between museum, music history, puzzle fun, and live atmosphere.
Conclusion: Music History Becomes a Family Experience
"307 CHEERS!" makes Leopold Mozart tangible in Augsburg on several levels: as a historical figure, as a musician, and as an initiator for a diverse program. Those who want to connect music, history, and shared discovery will experience a special family day in the Leopold Mozart House with concerts, tours, and theatrical moments.
